Jake Quickenden talks X Factor exit on This Morning

Last night Jake Quickenden waved goodbye to The X Factor 2014 after being voted off the show and today he talked about his exit on This Morning.

Talking Eamonn and Ruth earlier today Jake said, ā€œIā€™m alrightā€¦ thereā€™s nothing really to be said about it. Iā€™ve been on a great journey and here I am.ā€

During the interview Jake admitted to being disappointed with himself and said, ā€œIā€™m a bit let down I didnā€™t get to show myself at my full ability. With a guitar.ā€

When asked if he thinks he was better than some of the contestants left behind. Jake diplomatically said, ā€œI think everybodyā€™s great in their own ways. I maybe didnā€™t perform to my best on Saturday, and thatā€™s why Iā€™m sat here. But I didnā€™t think it was as bad as the judges made out. There were a few bad notes but when youā€™re on the stage in front of ten million people and you [feel like] youā€™ve got a gobstopper at the back of your throat, its hard to sing to your best. It really is. Itā€™s so nerve wrackingā€¦ā€

Jake went on to reveal that he still plans to pursue a career in music, ā€œIā€™m not the kind of person to give up, so Iā€™m going to keep slogging at it, and if you want something hard enough and as much as I do then Iā€™ll keep working and hopefully itā€™ll come.ā€

He went on to say, ā€œItā€™s an amazing platform it really is, and anything can happen nowā€¦ and Iā€™m willing to get my fingers in anything and hopefully I will and the future might be bright.ā€
