How incredible was the opening episode of The Walking Dead’s fifth season?
The show’s creative team weren’t kidding when they said it was the most intense episode of the show they’d made yet. Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Darryl (Norman Reedus), Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Bob (Lawrence Gilliard, Jr.) had a very close call when they were dragged from the boxcar to be beaten and slaughtered. Thankfully they managed to escape thanks to Carol (Melissa McBride) who created a diversion and went badass to ensure her friends survived.
With Carol’s help, the survivors managed to get away from Terminus and it’s unclear which of the Terminus residents survived the epic battle. By the end of the episode Carol was welcomed back into the group, Tyreese (Chad Coleman) learned that sometimes murder is necessary and Rick was reunited with Judith. Did anyone else shed a tear?
The next episode of the season is Strangers. With supplies running low and not knowing whether to trust the people around them, Rick leads a mission where the risk might not be worth the reward.
