Karen Harding has released the audio for her brand new single Say Something which will be released on 19th October.
Teaming up with producer MNEK, Newcastle-born Karen is ready to attack the charts with Say Something. She caught the ear of MNEK when she posted her cover of Disclosure and Sam Smith’s Latch.
“He got in touch and invited me down to London for a session that was due to start at 4pm,” she recalls, “But when I was halfway down on the train, just past York, he called to cancel as something had come up. I told him you can’t cancel on me, I’m on my way! So we only had 2 hours but ‘Say Something’ came out of that session.”
Say Something marries classic R&B with a UK garage flavour and bold beats. Karen’s strong vocals drive the soaring melody creating a catchy tune bound to impact on the charts.
Talking about her sound Karen says, “I want to bring what Whitney Houston brought to ’80s and ’90s R&B to house. I’m all about the vocals and bringing back really cool harmonies and strong ad-libs that people can get excited about. But most of all I want people to enjoy themselves.”
Say Something is one of several tracks Karen has worked with MNEK on. Take a listen to the track below:
