Peter Capaldi makes his debut as the Doctor tonight when Doctor Who returns to BBC One for its 8th series.
Capaldi takes over the role from Matt Smith and will be joined by returning companion Clara (Jenna Coleman). The first episode of the series is the feature length Deep Breath. When the Doctor arrives in Victorian London he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions.
