Pretty Little Liars season 5 No One Here Can Love or Understand Me preview

Weā€™re one week away from the midseason finale of Pretty Little Liarsā€™ fifth season and weā€™re finally starting to get some answers.

If you havenā€™t seen the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars and donā€™t want any spoilers we recommend you stop reading now. If you have seen it and want to relive the action then keep reading.

The latest episode of the show saw Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) decide enough was enough with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and it was time to come clean to Lieutenant Tanner (Roma Maffia). They were stopped in their tracks when A flashed up proof that Ali had visited Hanna when she was supposed to be dead on TV screens in a shop window and warned the liars to act normal.

With Ali absent this week and taking some time out with her dad following her ā€˜kidnapper ordealā€™, the four girls were left to start making a plan as to how they could save themselves and stop Ali from throwing them under a bus.

Spencer received the biggest surprise of all this week when Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) did another disappearing act and mailed her a video with some answers about the night Ali disappeared. It turns out that Melissa may not be as evil as weā€™ve thought all along and she claims she buried Bethanyā€™s body thinking she was protecting Spencer who she saw wielding a shovel on the night that everything took place. Unfortunately for Melissa she thought the body was a) Ali and b) dead so actually it was her that ultimately killed Bethany that night by burying her alive.

It took Spencer the entire episode to share the news with her friends and once she did they were all as shocked as she was. How long before the tape makes its way into Aā€™s hands? Not long weā€™d bet.

Emily turned investigator this week with the help of Ezra (Ian Harding). She took a picture of Ali at an ATM machine with a mystery man to her former teacher and asked for his help finding out more information about it. Ezra jumped straight onto the case and discovered that it was Cyrus (Jake Weary), Aliā€™s ā€˜kidnapperā€™ leading Emily to conclude that Ali was involved in the guyā€™s fake confession about kidnapping her.

Seems Emily isnā€™t the only one suspicious about what Aliā€™s up to as Hanna shared her ā€˜bad thoughtā€™ with her friends that maybe Ali is the one that is trying to stop them from talking. Thatā€™s two of the liars then that are connecting Ali to Aā€¦

Speaking of Hanna she asked Spencer to help with an intervention for Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) whose drinking is still out of control. Spencer pulls in Tobyā€™s (Keegan Allen) help and the foursome arrange a dinner date. As soon as Caleb turns up Toby starts to tackle him and itā€™s not long before Caleb storms out with Hanna running after him.

Later in the episode Caleb returns home and finally opens up to Hanna about what happened in Ravenswood explaining that the town allowed him to see the world of the dead and changed him. Whilst the two are enjoying a hug a Ouija board on the table starts moving around on its own. Creepy! Caleb then sleeps as Hanna makes a call whilst fireflies appear outside the cabin and someone is watching them through the window.

Aria had to deal with her brother Mikeā€™s (Cody Allen Christian) renewed relationship with Mona (Janel Parrish) this week. The shapeshifting character has wormed her way back into Mikeā€™s affections and Aria isnā€™t happy about it one bit. After confiding in her dad (Chad Lowe) that Mona is bad for Mike, Aria agrees to observe from afar and not interfere. Well that lasted all of five minutes when Aria went to the cinema to find Mona had taken her motherā€™s (Holly Marie Combs) place. During the movie Aria whispered something in Monaā€™s ear which made her flee to the toilets in tears.

When Mona didnā€™t return to her seat, Aria found her in the bathroom and the two had a honest (we think) exchange. Mona admitted that sheā€™s not a good person but that all she was doing was trying to protect herself from Ali. Mona also warned that once Ali had destroyed her she would target Aria and her friends next. She also hinted that she knew what had really happened in New York. Could we be seeing the start of an unlikely friendship?

Elsewhere in the episode Emily finally realised sheā€™d made a huge mistake by breaking up with Paige (Lindsey Shaw) and put the wheels in motion to reconcile with her. Paige agreed to talk but told Emily she had plans that evening. Whilst Emily was working at the Brew she bumped into a rather glamorous Paige who was on her way out. Where was she going? On a date with an unknown female which was witnessed by Aria. Paily fans shouldnā€™t get their hopes up just yet then.

Finally there was a huge kick in the guts courtesy of Tanner. After stopping by Ariaā€™s house to speak to Byron, Tanner revealed that she had a meeting with one of the girls the next day who was ready to tell her everything. Aria assembled the other girls, minus Hanna, and they soon realised that girl was Alison. Time to protect yourselves girlsā€¦

Pretty Little Liars continues Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC Family in the US.
