Judy Murray, the mother of tennis players Andy and Jamie Murray, is the second celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing.
The tennis coach made the announcement this morning via the official Strictly Twitter channel. The news follows the reveal that Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays will be participating on this year’s series.
Judy said, “I’m a huge Strictly Come Dancing fan but a total armchair dancer. It’s going to be a big challenge for me and for whoever has to dance with me but I absolutely can’t wait to get started!”
Born in Bridge of Allan, Scotland Judy qualified as a tennis coach aged 17 and went on to become the eighth best female player in the UK.
More celebrities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the show’s return later this year.
