The Walking Dead will air globally just 24 hours after its US launch when it returns for a fifth season later in the year.
The announcement was made today by FOX International Channels at Comic Con 2014 in San Diego. As with previous seasons the fifth season will air in two parts with the first 8 episodes starting on 13th October and the final 8 episodes airing in February 2015.
This marks the shortest wait between US and UK transmission so far over for fans of the show.
The end of the fourth season saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and some of his fellow survivors walk straight into a trap after fleeing the prison and finding their way to Terminus. Some of the survivors havenāt made it to the destination yet and speculation is rife about how the characters will survive.
The Walking Dead continued to break ratings records both domestically and internationally during its fourth season.
