Dolly Parton fever is rife in the UK following the country iconās Blue Smoke tour and her show-stopping appearance at Glastonbury.
Whilst Blue Smoke looks set to climb higher in the charts, Dolly has announced the release of new single Try. The inspirational track is the theme song for Dollyās literacy programme The Imagination Library which has seen her give away over 60 million books across the US.
Talking about the track Dolly says, āItās based on the fact a lot of my relatives couldnāt read and write and I saw how crippling that was, but also the struggles Iāve gone through as an artist and in my life.Ā Itās about saying youāve just gotta get out there and try.Ā Itās an uplifting encouraging song.Ā Youāre not going to amount to anything unless you try.āĀ She uses herself as a good example Ā āItās a song Iām very involved in and itās very personal to me and Iām very proud of. The first story we give away in the literacy programme is the āThe Little Engine That Couldā and I think Iām a little engine that did!ā
Try has already been A-listed on Radio 2. Check out a recent live performance from The Wendy Williams Show:
