Get ready to dance in Bromley

Rambert, Richard Alston and Tap Factory are lined up to perform at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April.

Rambert brings rock’n’roll swagger of the Rolling Stones thrillingly to life in Rooster – one of their all-time best-loved works, making a much anticipated return after a 13-year absence. Transporting you to the coolest nightspot in town, sharp-suited, snake-hipped men and strong, sassy women perform virtuoso courtship dances to some of the Stones’ most famous tunes, including Not Fade Away, Paint It Black, As Tears Go By, Sympathy for the Devil and, naturally, Little Red Rooster. Rambert’s hugely enjoyable programme also features SUB, a rhythm-propelled display of male power and precision, and The Castaways, a darkly funny piece of dance theatre inspired by folk dance and driven by infectious world music.

Choreographer Richard Alston matches the shimmering beauty of Ravel with the pure joy of Scott Joplin and the lightning energy of Bang on a Can All-Stars. Shimmer is danced to the sun-drenched music of Ravel played live. Julien Macdonald’s fabulous, jewel-encrusted cobweb costumes illuminate dazzling streaks of limpid choreography in a ravishingly beautiful piece of theatre. The Devil in the Detail is inspired by the incomparable ragtime music of American composer Scott Joplin. Irresistible classics such as Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer are blended with the lightness and finesse of Alston’s choreography.

To end the evening, Martin Lawrance’s Madcap is fast paced, thrilling and set to the driven music of ultra-cool New York band, Bang on a Can All-Stars. Theatre Productions are proud to bring world class show Tap Factory to the UK in 2014. This tremendously visual, and highly exciting show features the world’s best tap dancers and international musicians as they blend the art of percussion with dance and acrobatics. This dynamic work was created by Vincent Pausanias and comes to the UK direct from sell out tours in Europe and South America as part of a World tour.

Live percussion combined with impressive choreography by gorgeous male dancers and acrobats will set your pulses racing.
