Yurusarezaru Mono, directed by Korean-Japanese film-maker Lee Sang-il, has released its first trailer.
Inspired by Clint Eastwood’s 1992 movie Unforgiven, Yurusarezaru Mono tells a story set in Japan, during the same period as the original film, with globally renowned Japanese actor Ken Watanabe in the lead role.
Unforgiven was directed by Clint Eastwood (he also starred in the movie) and it was hailed by critics. it picked up 9 Oscar nominations and won four including Best Picture and Best Director.
Yurusarezaru Mono marks the first time in Japanese cinematic history that an American Academy Award-winning film has been remade. The film also stars Akira Emoto, Jun Kunimura, Shiori Kutsuna, Yuya Yagira and Koichi Sato
