Tamera Foster leaves The X Factor

Tamera Foster has become the latest contestant to leave this year’s X Factor.

The 16-year old singer found herself in the bottom two with Luke Friend.

In the sing-off, Tamera sang Christina Aguilera’s The Voice. She did the song justice, even if she forgot the words in the beginning. Luke took on Snow Patrol’s Run. It was a typical Luke performance, with his soulful voice shining through.

Judging, Nicole said: “Tamera, that was a stunning save-me performance. Luke, you’re a giver, and no one can take away your gift. I’m sorry, but I’m sticking to my girl.” Louis went with his boy, Luke: “You won the sing-off, and you shouldn’t have been in the bottom two.” Sharon said: “Listen, as Louis said, that sing-off was such an organic performance from a singer-songwriter, there is no competition. I’m sending Tamera home.” It was then down to Gary. He said: “This is hard. I’m going to put it back to the public, and putting it deadlock.” Deadlock decided that Tamera was going home.

The X Factor began tonight with all of the finalists singing Ellie Goulding’s Burn.

Former X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson returned tonight to perform her brand new single I Hope. Rebecca has found success in the last two years, and has blossomed. Talking to Dermot after her performance, she said: “I’m so grateful to be back here, and was so nervous! I’m backing Sam Bailey, and I think Tamera has star quality!”

Last year’s winner James Arthur was also back tonight, and having been declared ‘exhausted’ by doctors two weeks ago, we were looking forward to seeing James’ return to The X Factor stage. James sang his new single Recovery. It was the usual amazing James Arthur-ness performance! We loved it! Talking to Dermot after his performance, he said: “It’s been an amazing year for me, amazing high’s, terrible lows, and I’ve made a few stupid mistakes. Thanks to all who has stuck by me. And, I want to say sorry for abusing my position as an X Factor winner.  I owe everything to this thing. Thank you for having me.”

The X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV.
