Sam Callahan leaves The X Factor

Sam Callahan has become the latest act to leave this year’s X Factor.

Finding himself in the bottom two with fellow Boys contestant, Luke, Sam sadly lost out after all of the judges, apart from Louis, voted to save Luke.

Louis Walsh said: “I’m not sending any of them home. I abstain from voting.” Nicole said: “Luke, you sang your heart out tonight. Sam, I knew you had it in you, and that’s what I’ve been looking for every night. I’m sending home Sam.” Gary said: “Luke, good job. Sam, it’s not all bad news, that was the best performance I’ve ever seen you do. Well done. I’m sending Sam home.” Sharon would have sent Sam home.

In the sing-off, Luke sang I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2, accompanied by his acoustic guitar. Sam sang the Goo Goo Doll’s Iris.

The X Factor began tonight with all of the finalists singing Never Forget by Take That. Tamera and Sam Bailey rocket it, but the others – the less said about it, the better.

Miley Cyrus was the first guest performer of the evening, and having caused controversy in the past w months with her stage antics, we were quite excited to see her perform. Miley sang her big hit Wrecking Ball. Her set was quite interesting. Giving a raw performance of her song, it’s clear that Miley has amazing talent. Talking to Dermot after her performance, she said: “I will be back in the UK next spring, and I’m looking forward to seeing you guys again!”

The amazing Gary Barlow was the second guest performer of the night, and we couldn’t wait to see him sing! Gary sang his new single Let Me Go. Gary always delivers, and we loved it!

The X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV.
