Maurice’s Jubilee comes to Churchill Theatre

Maurice’s Jubilee was a hit at the Edinburgh festival in 2012 and now’s your chance to catch the poignant, funny drama that won rave reviews. Maurice’s Jubilee will be on stage at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley from Tuesday 26th to Saturday 30th March.

It’s written by Nichola McAuliffe, best-known for her leading role alongside Duncan Preston in Surgical Spirit. She also stars in the production, alongside renown RSC actor Julian Glover, whose film credits include playing baddies in James Bond, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Doctor Who, to name but a few of the major brands his talents have graced.

In Maurice’s Jubilee, Maurice (Glover) is determined to reach his 90th birthday, which is the day before the diamond jubilee. The Queen, having made him a promise 60 years before, is coming to tea. His wife is convinced he’s never met the Queen. His nurse thinks it’s time he did.

Maurice’s Jubilee is the hilariously funny and poignant take on timeless themes, the exploration of one man’s enduring commitment to a dream, and an eternal love triangle, fallen on hard times.
