The murder of a young woman, found mutilated with a poem hidden in her mouth, prompts Inspector Sancho to open an investigation just as he’s about to be transferred from Valladolid to Madrid. Unbeknownst to him, Augusto, the prime suspect, is a mysterious young man with an impeccable appearance, now searching for a woman tied to his dark past.

Armando Lopategui, alias “Carapocha,” a psychologist and expert on serial killers, arrives in Valladolid to assist Inspector Sancho. Meanwhile, Augusto has found the woman he is looking for: but his intentions remain unknown. Sancho is facing two new personal issues: a problem with his mother and a challenging relationship with Martina, the psycholinguist

The discovery of a second corpse sends shockwaves through Valladolid, confirming that a monster is on the loose. The killer’s sexual encounter with Violeta, a young girl unaware of the danger she’s in, adds urgency to the case. A crucial clue from Martina leads Sancho and Carapocha to investigate Augusto for the first time.

For two weeks, Augusto has refrained from committing another crime. Carapocha believes the killer has achieved his goal and will not strike again, prompting Sancho to prepare for his move to Madrid. Saying goodbye to his colleagues, especially Martina, proves difficult. Neither Sancho nor Carapocha suspects that Augusto is plotting his next move.

After the latest murder and Augusto’s successful escape, Sancho falls into despair. However, a final clue left by the last victim revives the investigation. Carapocha devises a plan to catch the killer, but Augusto feels secure and unaware that his peace is about to be shattered.

Although Sancho has been removed from the case, he, along with his team’s help, refuses to give up and continues the investigation. A new lead upends everything, and Carapocha has one last trick to catch Augusto. He must act fast, though, as Augusto plans to disappear this time for good.

Walter Presents: ‘Momento Mori' will launch on Channel 4 on 11th May 2025 at midnight. The series will be available as a boxset on C4 Streaming on 9th May.
