Walter Presents is bringing season 1 of ‘Panda' to C4 Streaming with weekly episode releases.
The French series stars Julien Doré, Ophélia Kolb and Gustave Kervern. It is created by Thomas Mansuy and Mathieu Leblanc.
This humorous detective series follows Panda, a retired cop turned relaxed pacifist, who is drawn back into the world of investigations when Leo arrives at his beach hut seeking help. Leo is accused of murdering a tennis champion, but Panda believes in his innocence and reluctantly agrees to assist by returning to his former life as a cop.
He teams up with Lola, the cop who was chasing Leo. However, Panda sets strict terms: no gun, no car, and no police station. As they dig deeper, they discover the murder took place during a party among friends in a polyamorous relationship, suggesting a crime of passion?
In episode 3, a man is found stabbed in the early hours. Their investigation leads them to the Hacienda, a seaside bar with wild karaoke nights. Panda’s instincts tell him something’s off, so they go undercover. They find a flamingo shot dead and a revolver in a canal, leading them to the Castan ranch. Despite the code of silence, Panda and Lola uncover a potential crime scene, a missing seasonal worker, and a boss on the run, though no body is found.
Next, they investigate AquaParadise, a water park where they discover the body of the owner’s wife by the riverbank. A few steps away an abandoned baby belonging to the cleaner adds to the mystery, revealing a case of homicide, a kidnapping and a baby on their hands!
Finally, 20-year-old Benjamin dies suddenly at a Zen retreat. Initially believed to be a stroke, a strange voice message left before his death raises suspicions. Panda infiltrates the retreat undercover, while Lola investigates officially. As they uncover dark secrets, the case becomes more complex.
Throughout these cases, Panda and Lola confront personal challenges and work together in ways neither expected, leading them on a thrilling journey through interconnected mysteries.
