Anne Rice's ‘Interview With The Vampire' fans are in for a treat this October with two new releases.
First up is Season Two of the critically acclaimed show, which promises even more thrills, ecstasy and pain, all set against a gorgeously gothic, visually stunning backdrop. Based on Rice’s novel, we are reacquainted with Louis (Jacob Anderson – ‘Game of Thrones), Lestat (Sam Reid – ‘The Newsreader'), Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian – ‘Succession'), Claudia (Delainey Hayles – ‘Too Close') and Armand (Assad Zaman – ‘Small Axe', ‘Our Girl') for another lusciously haunting saga of immortality, love and revenge.
Following its airing on BBC Two, Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and digital on 7th October 2024 courtesy of Acorn Media International. Alongside Season 2 is the release of the Season 1 & 2 Boxset, which will be available on the same day on Blu-ray and DVD.
The interview continues in modern-day Dubai, where vampire Louis recounts his life – or rather, his afterlife – to renowned journalist Daniel Molloy, now joined by fellow vampire Armand. His story picks up immediately where season one left off. Having conspired to kill Lestat and fled New Orleans, Louis and Claudia find themselves in post-war Europe attempting to rebuild their lives. Their journey leads them to Paris, where they unearth forgotten secrets and encounter the vampire community Claudia had hoped to find, including Armand, with whom Louis feels an instant connection. But will they find the home they desperately seek, and are they truly free from Lestat’s grip?
In season one, set in early 1900s New Orleans, Louis couldn't resist Lestat’s offer of escape and joined him as his vampire companion. However, the intoxicating powers came at a deadly price and the introduction of child vampire Claudia set them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.
A third season of Anne Rice's ‘Interview With The Vampire' is on the way so it's a great time to catch up on the first two seasons. The show was created by Rolin Jones (‘Boardwalk Empire') and executive produced by Mark Johnson (‘Breaking Bad'), Christopher Rice, the late Anne Rice, Alan Taylor and Mark Taylor.
