Have we seen the last of Chelsea Murphy on ‘Neighbours’?

The moment we’ve been waiting for finally arrived on today’s ‘Neighbours’ as Chelsea Murphy’s (Viva Bianca) world came crashing down around her.

If you want to avoid spoilers, stop reading this article now.

Following their engagement in yesterday’s episode (Tuesday 7th May), Chelsea and Paul (Stefan Dennis) threw a lavish engagement party at Lassiter’s but it didn’t go the way either of them expected. Viewers saw Chelsea continuing to manipulate Krista (Majella Davis) yesterday and when she told her that she had her back, Krista’s memories of the confrontation that led to her being hospitalised came flooding back.

Krista spoke with Penny and learned that Chelsea sent her away on an all-expenses paid vacation giving her the perfect opportunity to frame her for locking Krista in the sauna. With the help of Jeffrey (Tim Potter), Krista crashed Chelsea and Paul’s engagement party and the truth came out. Paul immediately broke off his engagement with Chelsea, taking back the expensive engagement ring she’d bought for herself, leaving Chelsea exposed and humiliated.

Expecting her sister Cara (Sara West) to have her back, Chelsea found she had no one in her corner. As Cara warned her sister that her actions would follow her around for the rest of her life, Chelsea packed her bags and made a run for it before the police got to her.

Is Chelsea going to pay for her crimes?

It doesn’t look like it. The preview for tomorrow’s episode shows Cara telling everyone that Chelsea has disappeared and that no one can find her. Knowing Chelsea, she’ll find another unsuspecting person to target and manipulate them to give herself a new life away from Erinsborough. Unless the police manage to locate her, the only person Chelsea is likely to respond to is Cara but now that Cara has seen who her sister really is, it doesn’t look likely that she’s going to chase after her.

Will Krista get justice for what Chelsea did to her?

It’s not looking likely. Chelsea is a master of covering her tracks and if she’s really disappeared, as the preview for tomorrow’s episode suggests, the police is going to have a hard time locating her. Add to that Krista’s problems with addiction and her recent relapse, and it’s unlikely that Chelsea could be held solely responsible for the loss of Krista’s baby. How that will impact on Krista remains to be seen and there’s a good chance that Chelsea has inflicted long-term damage on Krista and her mental health.

Could we see Chelsea in Erinsborough again in the future?

While nothing has been confirmed, we’d put money on seeing Chelsea again at some point in the future. The woman has no shame and given the character is Cara’s sister, there’s always an opportunity for her to return. While viewers have found the character incredibly divisive, there’s no denying that she’s made an impact. Chelsea has become the character that viewers love to hate and the show is going to be a little less exciting without her around. Give it 6 months and we think she’ll be back to cause more chaos.

‘Neighbours’ airs Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee.
