Mason Noise (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: Men In Black – Will Smith (Men In Black)

Our verdict: Performance wise Mason stepped it up this week but that was a terrible song choice. The vocals were all over the place thanks to the performance. We don’t think that he’ll be still in the competition after tomorrow night’s results show.

The comments: Rita said that she didn’t know what Mason had been drinking and told him he wouldn’t be in the bottom two tomorrow night. Cheryl said that Mason needed to let a bit of steam out and told him ‘good job’. Simon said ‘it’s like welcome back Mason’ and told him he likes the return of his arrogance and cockiness. Nick said that tonight was Mason in his element and told him it was exciting to have someone like him in the competition.

Max Stone

Max Stone (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: Secret Garden – Bruce Springsteen (Jerry Maguire)

Our verdict: Simon giving Max that song won’t do him any favours with the voting public. What a bland song that completely lacked any kind of memorable melody. It also didn’t help that Max was out of tune in places.

The comments: Nick said that the performance was much better this week than last week but told Max that he wanted to be moved more than he was. Rita said that she liked how comfortable Max was on the stage and told him she’s become a Max fan. Cheryl said that she didn’t know the song and hadn’t seen the movie but told Max that he sounded stunning. Simon told Cheryl that he’d buy her a copy of the movie and he told Max that it was a very cool performance.

Louisa Johnson

Louisa Johnson (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: Everybody’s Free – Quindon Tarver (Romeo & Juliet)

Our verdict: There’s no doubt that Louisa can sing but she’s in danger of becoming a one-trick pony. She’s got an incredible voice but we need to see a bit of variety and range rather than just belting out a song over a slowed down melody.

The comments: Cheryl said that Louisa continues to outdo herself every week and told her that she still has no idea how good she is. Simon said that the competition really means something to Louisa as she fought back the tears and he told her he could see that she wants to win. Nick said that Louisa delivers every week and told her she’d given her best performance so far. Rita was in tears and told Louisa that she was really happy for her.

Monica Michael

Monica Michael (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: What Is Love? – V. Bozeman (Empire)

Our verdict: Monica is back in the competition! That was a much better performance especially as Monica had to change her song this morning. She pulled it out of the bag with that vocal.

The comments: Cheryl said that Monica coped with the song change well and told her ‘good job’. Simon said that when Monica connects with a song like she did tonight she’s magic. Nick said that he loves Monica’s voice and told her that he preferred the Monica he saw this week. Rita said that she was happy that Monica was back in her element this week.

Reggie N Bollie

Reggie N Bollie (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: Who Let The Dogs Out? – Baha Men (Rugrats: The Movie)

Our verdict: Well the crowd loved it. Reggie N Bollie may not really be able to sing but they sure are fun and popular with the audience. That performance was fun and the deafening cheers from the crowd seem to suggest they won’t be going anywhere tomorrow night.

The comments: Simon said that he feels like Reggie N Bollie have taken over the whole show. Nick said that Reggie N Bollie are talented and they always do what they love. Rita said they were fun and lifted the mood up in the studio. Cheryl said that the competition needs Reggie N Bollie.

Anton Stephans

Anton Stephans (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: I Have Nothing – Whitney Houston (The Bodyguard)

Our verdict: Anton may have wanted that to be the song of the night but it wasn’t for us. The second half of the song was shouted rather than sung and we didn’t think it was a great version. When will people learn that they shouldn’t touch Whitney Houston!

The comments: Nick said he was glad to see the real Anton back but told him his performance was a bit too musical theatre in parts. Rita said tonight was proof of how amazing Anton is. Cheryl said the song was something that Anton would do in the real world. Simon said it’s one of his favourite songs and disagreed with Nick that the performance was too musical theatre.

4th Impact

4th Impact (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: Work It Out – Beyonce (Austin Powers Goldmember)

Our verdict: Performance wise it was great but vocally we’ve heard the girls do a lot better than that. They sounded a bit out of time at the beginning but they came together well on the harmonies. Well done on them getting through it especially as one of the girls almost passed out at the end.

The comments: Simon said the performance was one of the best the show has ever seen. Nick said that the performance was perfect and commented that the group looked more grown up tonight. Rita said that it was a really inspiring performance and told them their hard work paid off. Cheryl said she was proud of the girls and commended their professionalism.

Lauren Murray

Lauren Murray (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: One Last Time – Ariana Grande

Our verdict: Lauren, like Monica, had to change her song earlier today but you wouldn’t have known that from her performance. She delivered the best vocal of the night and once again, for us, stole the show.

The comments: Cheryl said that she preferred Lauren’s song tonight to the one she was supposed to sing and told her it was a beautiful performance. Simon said that it feels like the competition has started tonight and told Lauren that she’d nailed the song. Nick said that Lauren improves week after week and told her she sang better than Ariana on the original track. Rita said that Lauren is one of the easiest people to work with and told everyone they have a lot of fun in rehearsals.

Che Chesterman

Che Chesterman (Credit: Thames / Syco Entertainment)

The song: When a Man Loves a Woman – Percy Sledge (When Harry Met Sally)

Our verdict: One of the performances of the night. Che always delivers and tonight was no exception. His voice is so soulful and he’s definitely one of the best vocalists in the competition. A great way to close the week 3 live show.

The comments: Rita said she was gobsmacked by Che’s performance but knew that he would pull it off. Cheryl said that she loves Che’s voice and can’t get enough of it. Simon asked Che if he had any idea how good his love life was going to be after the show and told him he was fantastic. Nick said that Che was perfect and told him he’s a joy to work with.

The X Factor 2015 continues tomorrow night at 8pm.
