Nelly, the musician who gave us Hot in Herre, and the brilliant Dilemma, has now released his new single, Hey Porsche.

Hey Porsche opens with very middle-of-road guitars, with Nelly’s voice coming in after a few seconds. It’s a change of direction for the hip hop star, but unfortunately the track feels like an outdated pop track. It feels as if he hasn’t even tried to make the track exciting.

The lyrics aren’t exactly inspiring, with lines such as “Hey Porsche…I wanna try ya…”, “let me slide under, so I can work on you” and “I wanna take your top off, celebrate the champagne pop-off”.

This is not Nelly’s normal style, and we were very disappointed in this latest offering. The repetitiveness of the chorus makes us forget to carry on listening to the track.

We normally love Nelly’s music, but this time, we’d rather bypass it!
