Following conversations with McQueen, Sade was asked to dig deep within to write a song about loss and survival.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H4H9T3iFfWg?enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The song is described as speaking &#8216;to the film\u2019s spirit, but upholds the classic hallmarks of her sound, and stands out as another bold and brilliant work from the legendary songstress&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the Los Angeles Times McQueen said, \u201cIt was an honour to work with such a legend.   Sade is an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material, but luckily the original series of Widows had deeply resonated with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lyric video for the track features McQueen\u2019s cool contemporary Chicago scenes as a beautiful backdrop to lead character Veronica\u2019s (Viola Davis) contemplation of a future unknown, and the dark times that led to that moment.<\/p>\n<p>The Widows\u2019 Original Motion Picture soundtrack album features Sade\u2019s The Big Unknown and Nina Simone\u2019s Wild Is The Wind alongside an intimate score by Hans Zimmer. It is available digitally now and in CD on 30th November.
