SHOUT! The Musical – the blockbusting Swinging Sixties sensation – is back on the road for the first time in over a decade.<\/p>\n
The show features popular songs from the fabulous and freewheeling decade of the Swinging Sixties such as \u2018Don\u2019t Sleep In The Subway\u2019, \u2018These Boots Are Made for Walkin\u2019\u2019, \u2018To Sir, With Love\u2019, \u2018Those Were The Days\u2019, \u2018Downtown\u2019, \u2018Colour My World\u2019, \u2018I Couldn\u2019t Live Without Your Love\u2019, \u2018I Just Don\u2019t Know What To Do With Myself\u2019, \u2018I Only Wanna Be With You\u2019, \u2018One, Two, Three\u2019, \u2018Tell The Boys\u2019, \u2019You\u2019re My World\u2019 as well as that trio of lovable numbers \u2018You Don\u2019t Have To Say You Love Me\u2019, \u2018Son Of A Preacher Man\u2019 and \u2018Goldfinger\u2019 not forgetting the big hit number that takes the show\u2019s name, \u2018SHOUT!\u2019<\/p>\n
The well-loved scenario surrounds the lives of five women in their \u201920s, \u201930s and \u201940s who all face tough situations, usually involving love, friendship and relationships. They all write to Gwendolyn Holmes, an agony aunt working on the magazine Shout!, for help and advice. Each girl is trying to find true happiness.<\/p>\n
Cast in the pivotal role of Green Girl is Sonia who was destined for a career in show-business as shortly after leaving school she made appearances in the popular sitcom \u2018Bread\u2019 as well as the equally-popular soap opera, \u2018Brookside\u2019. The release of her d\u00e9but single, \u2018You\u2019ll Never Stop Me from Loving You\u2019, released in 1989, shot to No. 1 in the UK charts selling a staggering 350,000 copies while her d\u00e9but album, \u2018Everybody Knows\u2019, sold half a million copies and included a string of top singles such as \u2018Can\u2019t Forget You\u2019, \u2018Listen To Your Heart\u2019 and \u2018Counting Every Minute\u2019.<\/p>\n
The role of Orange Girl falls to Niki Evans who made the X-Factor semi-finals in 2007 capturing the hearts of the nation and a legion of fans along the way as well as being highly praised by Simon Cowell.<\/p>\n
Playing the role of Blue Girl is Helena Blackman who forged a very successful career in musical theatre. A host of top roles has come her way such as Maria von Trapp and Elsa Schraeder in \u2018The Sound of Music\u2019, Eliza Doolittle in \u2018My Fair Lady\u2019 and Nellie Forbush in \u2018South Pacific\u2019.<\/p>\n
