Laci Kaye Booth releases new ‘Daddy’s Mugshot’ song ahead of her Opry debut

On the eve of her Grand Ole Opry debut, singer-songwriter Laci Kaye Booth has released her latest track, ‘Daddy’s Mugshot.' This marks her first new song since her 2024 debut album, ‘The Loneliest Girl In The World,' and its companion ‘Acoustic Sessions.' The song, produced by Ben West, blends Booth’s signature dreamy vocals with raw storytelling, reflecting on family struggles and personal resilience.

Booth wrote ‘Daddy’s Mugshot' after seeing her father’s mugshot circulating online. “I started writing about him, my life, the curse passed down to me, and trying to ‘make it’ in Nashville,” she explains. The song's lyrics, including “What runs in the blood / Ain’t ever gonna stop / I might look like my mama / But I smile like my daddy’s mugshot,” showcase her ability to weave personal experiences into compelling country narratives.

Her Grand Ole Opry debut on March 29 is a major milestone, placing her among artists like Luke Combs and Lady A who have stepped into the legendary circle. Parker McCollum shared the news with Booth on the final night of his ‘What Kinda Man' arena tour, where she was a special guest.

Looking ahead, Booth will be touring this summer, with performances at Morgan Wallen’s Sand in My Boots and North of Nowhere music festivals. She will also support Megan Moroney on select dates and rejoin Parker McCollum for more shows.
