GRAMMY®-nominated trio Midland has just dropped their latest single, ‘Old Fashioned Feeling,' a melancholic ode to a bittersweet relationship. Produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb, the track was recorded at the historic Georgia Mae Studios in Savannah, GA. The release is accompanied by a visually captivating video directed by Harper Smith, featuring the band amidst a golden-hued film set bustling with showbiz energy, complete with flappers, mimes, managers, and actors.
“Sometimes it feels good to go for a swim in the Blues, have a sip of that fiery nostalgia, and live in the memory of something that was once so sweet that’s now turned bitter. Lose yourself in this Classic Country cup of 80 proof soul with a back beat,” explains Midland. “It's the sound of every dingy neon-hazed bar room where you go to hide in plain sight.”
Earlier this month, Midland teamed up with Orville Peck for the Roy Orbison-inspired duet ‘The Hurtin’ Kind,' featured on Peck’s new album ‘Stampede Vol. 1.' The song was written by Orville Peck, Leland, Ryan Raines, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson, and made its live debut during Midland’s The Last Resort Cruise.
Following the successful launch of The Last Resort Cruise, Midland concluded their Up In Texas headline tour and are now gearing up for a series of headline shows. Upcoming performances include the L.A. County Fair on Friday, May 24, and a two-night stand at the iconic Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, TX, on June 21 and 22. The trio will also grace several festivals, including the Bluebird Music Festival, Boots and Hearts Music Festival, and Born & Raised.
In addition, Midland is set to release a cover of Tom Petty’s classic ‘Mary Jane’s Last Dance' on the tribute album Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, available on June 21 via Big Machine Records.
