Dasha drops new stripped back version of her ‘Austin’ hit

Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California, Dasha’s musical journey was deeply influenced by the rich tapestry of country, folk, and Americana sounds that surrounded her upbringing. From an early age, she immersed herself in these genres, cultivating a profound connection to their storytelling traditions. Her musical journey began at the age of eight when she started playing the guitar and piano, eventually evolving into a skilled songwriter. Having attended Belmont University’s songwriting program from 2018 to 2021, Dasha honed her craft, learning the rules and tricks of songwriting.

Back in February we reviewed her new album, ‘What Happens Next?’ which her recent smash hit, ‘Austin’ is taken from and gave it 4.5 stars out of 5. If you missed that review we thought you might like an opportunity to read it. Click here for a review of the album. We also interviewed Dasha on her recent trip to the UK and you can read that here.

Today, May 30th, Dasha has added to the body of work around ‘Austin' and released a stripped back version entitled ‘Austin (Boots Stop Workin')' We love it – it adds real atmosphere and drama to the track and really helps to bring out the story and the narrative in the lyrics that maybe gets overlooked a little in the original as people are too busy line dancing! See for yourself below:

Dasha is set to make her highly anticipated debut on the iconic Grand Ole Opry® stage on Saturday, June 15, in Nashville, TN. The talented singer-songwriter will perform her hit single ‘Austin’ alongside tracks from her 2024 album ‘What Happens Now?’ released via Warner Records. Fans can secure their tickets here.
