Rising country artist Trey Pendley steps fully into the spotlight with the release of his debut EP ‘Podunk,' a deeply personal six-song collection that proudly embraces his Arkansas roots and the lived experiences that shaped him.
Far from shying away from small-town identity, Pendley frames the project as a tribute to the grit, resilience and lessons learned growing up off the beaten path, pairing unfiltered storytelling with vivid imagery drawn from real life.
Across the EP, listeners are transported through wheat field fight rings, worn-out pickup trucks and reflective late nights, as Pendley balances humour, vulnerability and honesty to paint an authentic portrait of home and heritage.
At the heart of Podunk is focus track ‘Like A River,' a redemptive love song that finds Pendley exploring acceptance and emotional healing, offering a softer counterpoint to the rough-edged realism found elsewhere on the record. The EP arrives following growing momentum from breakout single ‘Drunk As Any Rich Man' and fan favourites ‘The Dog' and ‘Podunk,' while Pendley has continued to build his reputation on the road supporting artists including Ashley McBryde and Blackberry Smoke.
Alongside his emergence as a compelling performer, Pendley is also gaining recognition as a songwriter, recently co-writing '15 Minutes' for Luke Combs, further cementing his status as one of country music’s most promising new voices.
