Anyone who has been following our Arts & Lifestyle content will know that I’m a big fan of Our Place. At this point, I wonder if my kitchen should be officially sponsored by the brand given I have pretty much every item they’ve released. Known for creating products that not only look good in your kitchen, but they will last you for years too, Our Place really has captured part of the home cook market. For their latest release, the brand has just unveiled the Tiny Cookware Duo and I’ve been fortunate enough to be sent a sample of them for review.
The Tiny Cookware Duo consists of the Tiny Always Pan and the Tiny Perfect Pot with a lid. Available in four colours – Spice, Steam, Char and Sage – the collection is retailing for around £120 (at the time of writing this review it’s on offer for £110). If you’ve already got the original Always Pan and Perfect Pot, you might understandably be thinking, why do I need this Tiny Cookware Duo set? As with their larger counterparts, the Tiny Cookware Duo is made without PFAs and they feature Our Place’s trademark Thermakind nonstick. They look very similar to the larger items but the difference is that these are perfect for cooking dishes for one, or making elements that you simply don’t need a bigger pan for.
While the Tiny Cookware Duo isn’t induction compatible, it can be used in the oven up to 230 degrees. That makes these items versatile and you can start your cooking on the hob and transfer it to the oven with ease. To test them out, I made a few different things in them so I could deliver an honest verdict. The Tiny Always Pan is perfect for making sauces, melting butter and whipping up some scrambled eggs. If you’re a baker, you can also make a satisfying skillet cookie, and the size is absolutely perfect for one person. The bonus of using this for these small cooking and baking needs is that you reduce the washing up and the food heats quicker as the surface area is small.
With the Tiny Perfect Pot, I boiled up small batch of pasta and I also tried it with a single serving of brown rice. The water in the Perfect Pot heated up quickly, making it a far better choice than the standard sized Perfect Pot if you’re only cooking for one. I also really enjoyed making a three bean stew in this, starting off on the hob before letting the flavours marinate on a low heat over the course of a few hours in the oven. You can also use the Tiny Perfect Pot as a Dutch Oven and make a small loaf of bread, which I heartily recommend.
There is a Tiny Cookware Duo available too, which features the Petite Perfect Pot along with the Tiny Always Pan and the Tiny Perfect Pot. I haven’t tried this one out but you can believe I’ll be adding it to my collection when I get the chance.
The Tiny Cookware Duo is super cute and I’ve got a lot more use out of it than I thought I would. Sometimes you only need to cook for yourself, or make something quite small, and this set is perfect. Not only do they look fantastic, they also cook your food impressively and they are very easy to clean. Even if you have the regular sizes, I’d recommend adding these to your kitchen and you can thank me later.
