Country artist Erin Kinsey has released her new single ‘Gettin’ Away With It' marking an evolution in sound for the RECORDS Nashville singer-songwriter. Co-written by Kinsey alongside Lauren McLamb and Brandon Hood, and produced by Josh Kerr, the song also serves as the title track for her upcoming EP. Fans can listen to the new single and pre-save the EP, which is set for release on October 11.
Kinsey shares, “‘Gettin' Away With It' is a song I wrote about my younger sister, who I think is the coolest person on the planet. Every girl wants to be her best friend, and every boy wants to date her. And if I didn’t love her so much, it would be so hard to like her,” she jokes.
The EP will also include Kinsey's viral hits ‘I Ain’t Crazy' and ‘Matchmaker' both of which offer a more personal glimpse into the 23-year-old artist’s life. Reflecting on her growth since her last EP, Kinsey is ready to share more of her experiences with listeners.
“I think ‘Gettin' Away With It' is a cool title for the project because it is symbolic of my relationship to my music,” Kinsey explains. “I feel like I am able to say what I want to say, wear what I want to wear, and most importantly, be myself. I feel like I am ‘getting away with it,’ and the process should be harder, but people are relating to the songs because they are coming from a genuine place.”
Since its release in April ‘I Ain’t Crazy' has gained over 55 million streams across streaming and social media platforms, with no radio airplay, as fans have discovered it organically. Inspired by Kinsey's personal experience with an unfaithful relationship, the song has resonated with many listeners, contributing to a surge in her online following. The track, alongside others on the EP, showcases a new direction in Kinsey's sound, drawing influence from one of her idols, Miranda Lambert.
