Old Dominion announces deeply personal new album ‘Barbara’

Old Dominion has announced the upcoming release of their sixth studio album, ‘Barbara,' a 13-track project that dives deeper into life, loss, joy and reflection than ever before. Known for their signature blend of country, pop, and rock, the band is stepping into new emotional territory while still delivering the catchy hooks fans love. The album, produced by Shane McAnally alongside the band, is set to arrive on August 22nd. Pre-orders here.

Since their fan-favourite ‘Odie But Goodies' mixtape, the band has been on a whirlwind journey—headlining major festivals, breaking records with consecutive Vocal Group wins at both the CMA and ACM Awards, and even opening a bar named Odies in Nashville as a tribute to their fans and songwriting roots.

With ‘Barbara,' the group—Matthew Ramsey, Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen, Geoff Sprung, and Whit Sellers—turns inward. Songs like ‘Making Good Time,' ‘Miss You Man' and ‘Man or the Song' reflect on ageing, mortality and purpose, while tracks like ‘Crying in the Beach Bar' and ‘Break Your Mama’s Heart' keep the mood grounded in optimism and charm. According to Ramsey, it’s Old Dominion’s “most personal record ever,” exploring the light and dark sides of life while embracing a more mature, introspective sound.
