Robbie Williams has scored his 15th solo number one album with ‘Better Man', the soundtrack to his recently released biopic.
Williams outsold the rest of the Top 5 combined to reach the summit of the Official Albums Chart. He has now drawn level with The Beatles, who also have scored 15 number one albums in the UK.
Alongside ‘Better Man', Williams has scored another 14 solo chart-toppers: ‘Life Thru A Lens' (1997), ‘I’ve Been Expecting You' (1998), ‘Sing When You’re Winning' (2000), ‘Swing When You’re Winning' (2001), ‘Escapology' (2002), ‘Greatest Hits' (2004), ‘Intensive Care' (1), ‘Rudebox' (1), ‘In And Out Of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990-2010' (2010), ‘Take The Crown' (2012), ‘Swings Both Ways' (2013), ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show' (2016), ‘The Christmas Present' (2019) and ‘XXV' (2022). In fact, all but one of his studio albums reached Number 1.
In total Williams has scored 20 number 1 albums across his career when his time with Take That is taken into consideration. As a member of the boyband Williams topped the Official Albums Chart with ‘Everything Changes' (1993), ‘Nobody Else' (1995), ‘Greatest Hits' (1996), ‘Progress' (2010) and ‘Odyssey' (2018).
Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Williams says: “Thank you to everyone who has supported the album and the movie.
“What a huge honour it is to get my 15th UK Number 1 album. A special thank you to all my fans, whose support I never take for granted. I'm so proud of the film ‘Better Man', so to have the soundtrack album reach Number 1 makes it even more special.”
