The Grand Ole Opry will mark the 100th anniversary of its inaugural November 28, 1925 broadcast with a worldwide livestream of two special evening shows, bringing the historic celebration directly to fans around the globe. Viewers can tune in live via Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, while tickets for both in-person performances are available now at Opry.com. The milestone date commemorates the night a single fiddle tune performed by Uncle Jimmy Thompson sparked a legacy that has since grown to more than 200 members, over 15,000 broadcasts, countless iconic performances and an enduring place at the heart of country music.
“It’s truly amazing to me to think that what began as a regional radio broadcast on Nov. 28, 1925 is thriving more today than ever before,” said Opry Executive Producer Dan Rogers. “Exactly 100 years after that first performance, fans will be able to see and hear the celebration wherever they are around the globe.” Families are encouraged to celebrate throughout Thanksgiving weekend by listening on WSM or Sirius XM radio or watching through the Opry’s social media platforms and YouTube, with organizers promising a show worthy of a century in the making.
Confirmed performers include the Opry’s longest-serving member Bill Anderson and its most recent inductee Kathy Mattea, alongside an expansive lineup representing four generations of artists across the country music spectrum. The cast features more than 50 Grammy Award winners and seven Country Music Hall of Fame members, with appearances by Trace Adkins, Mandy Barnett, T. Graham Brown, Steven Curtis Chapman, Henry Cho, John Conlee, Dailey & Vincent, The Gatlin Brothers, Vince Gill, The Isaacs, Jamey Johnson, Dustin Lynch, Charlie McCoy, Scotty McCreery, Lorrie Morgan, Riders In The Sky, Ricky Skaggs, Connie Smith, Marty Stuart, Pam Tillis, The Whites, Mark Wills and many more. Newly invited Opry member Suzy Bogguss will also take the stage.
The centennial celebration will extend well into 2026 with a series of Opry 100 Honors shows, a special performance at Carnegie Hall and additional anniversary events throughout the year.
