Gareth invited to make Grand Ole Opry debut as new EP ‘Bluebird’ nears release

Rising country artist Gareth has received an emotional surprise — an official invitation to make his debut at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry on November 4. The moment was delivered in person by country star Brett Young and captured on video, available to view online. The milestone marks a major step in Gareth’s journey from his hometown of Castlederg, Northern Ireland, to the heart of country music in Nashville.

“My grandpa always told me the one wish he had was for me to play The Grand Ole Opry,” Gareth shared. “I can’t believe that wish is coming true. This one’s for you, Grandad.”

The announcement arrives just ahead of the release of Gareth’s highly anticipated new EP, ‘Bluebird,' out next Friday, October 24. The project includes a special collaboration with GRAMMY Award-winning artist Joss Stone and showcases Gareth’s signature fusion of heartfelt storytelling and modern-meets-traditional country sound.

‘Bluebird' features fan favourites such as ‘Born Yesterday’, ‘Long Story Short’, and ‘Shoulders I Stand On’, alongside three brand-new tracks: ‘Stampede’, ‘Look What Your Love Has Done To Me’ featuring Joss Stone, and the title track, ‘Bluebird’. The EP continues Gareth’s rise as one of country music’s most exciting emerging voices, bringing authenticity and emotional depth to a global audience.

Following his successful debut US tour, Gareth will return to the UK and Ireland in December, with performances including a major headline show at Belfast’s Ulster Hall and his first-ever hometown concert in Castlederg. He also recently announced his first Australian tour, set for March 2026.
