Antonio Larosa has returned with his new single ‘Turn Me Loose', which is available to stream and download now.
The song is a a swaggering, two-steppin’ honky-tonk track that channels the spirit of Dwight Yoakam and The Mavericks while staying rooted in his own lived-in style. Watch the video below:
The idea for the song first took shape in Antonio’s living room and kitchen, where he often plays new material between gigs. While humming the chorus one afternoon, his 2-year-old daughter started singing the melody back to him – and didn’t stop for two weeks. “That’s when I knew the hook had something,” says Antonio. “If it sticks with a toddler for that long, it might be worth finishing.”
Recorded live off the floor with an all-Canadian band, ‘Turn Me Loose' is a high-energy, rockabilly-tinged country cut filled with twangy guitars, upright grooves, and unfiltered feel – no samples, no programming, just the raw power of a band locked in. It’s a celebration of classic country energy and the kind of groove that fills a dance floor fast. The release is accompanied by a vintage-tinged visualizer, directed by Michael Makaroff.
‘Turn Me Loose' follows Larosa's recent release ‘Tried and True', which marked a creative turning point and introduced the first glimpse of a larger project set to culminate in a 2026 album. Larosa has continued to cement his status as an artist to watch in 2025 – recently opening for Kyle McKearney’s Western Canada tour, making his Toronto showcase debut at NXNE, earning the 2025 BCCMA award for Roots Artist of the Year, and being selected for the RBCxMusic First Up program.
Larosa has also announced his Roots, Roads & Reefs Tour with special guest Emmett Jerome – a run of shows across Vancouver Island this September. Tickets are on sale now.
