Kayley Green takes aim at an ex in new single ‘You’d Still Be Drunk’

Kayley Green, whose soprano has been praised as “rafter-reaching” by Billboard, dropped her high-energy new single, ‘You’d Still Be Drunk,' last Friday. Co-written with Jason Gantt and Josh Osborne, the track sees Green’s powerful vocals paired with rocking production and a catchy melody, capturing that moment of running into an ex under neon lights—only to realise moving on was the best decision.

“I used to wonder if I left too soon… but truth is, he’d still be drunk, and I’d still be disappointed,” Green explains. “It’s a lighthearted reminder that sometimes walking away is a better kind of buzz.”

Hailing from Florence, South Carolina, Green found her voice singing in church before earning a regular gig at a local restaurant in high school. She relocated to Nashville to attend Belmont University and quickly became a fixture on Lower Broadway. Her vibrant performances on stages like Whiskey Row caught the ear of Keith Urban, who invited her to duet ‘We Were Us' and cover ‘Independence Day' alongside him at the Bridgestone Arena.

That exposure led to a deal with Sony Music Nashville and a partnership with producer Ross Copperman, resulting in earlier releases like ‘Broken Heart' and ‘This Little Love of Mine.' Now a rising country voice firmly in the spotlight, Green continues to build her audience both onstage and online.
