The Grand Ole Opry has announced that Jelly Roll will return as host for the third consecutive year at Opry NextStage Live from Texas. The event will take place on May 7 at 2:30 p.m. CT at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall in Plano, Texas, ahead of the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in nearby Frisco on May 8. The showcase will highlight “Country’s Rising Sound” by featuring the newly announced Opry NextStage Class of 2025, which includes Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Dasha, Kaitlin Butts, Kashus Culpepper, Tigirlily Gold, and Tucker Wetmore, along with special guests.
Since its launch in 2019, the Opry NextStage program has helped introduce country music fans to rising artists who have gone on to major success. Collectively, NextStage alumni have achieved 33 No. 1 hits, spending a total of 43 weeks at the top of the Country Aircheck/Mediabase airplay chart. Notable past participants include Hailey Whitters, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Nate Smith, Parker McCollum, Riley Green, and Tenille Townes, many of whom later won ACM New Male or Female Artist of the Year honors. Wilson also became the first Opry NextStage alum to be inducted as a Grand Ole Opry member.
Past classes have featured an impressive lineup of rising talent, including 49 Winchester, Anne Wilson, Breland, Chapel Hart, Charles Wesley Godwin, Chase Matthew, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, Ernest, Flatland Cavalry, Ian Munsick, Jackson Dean, Josh Ross, Kameron Marlowe, Morgan Wade, Restless Road, and Wyatt Flores.
