Charles Kelley begins a new chapter with ‘Songs for a New Moon’ album

Grammy-winning artist and multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Charles Kelley is stepping into a new era with ‘Songs for a New Moon,' his second solo album set for release this summer. Embracing the lush, cinematic sounds of ‘80s pop, Kelley’s latest project signals a fresh perspective—both musically and personally.

To mark this new chapter, Kelley has released two songs from the upcoming album, ‘Can’t Lose You' and ‘Here With Me.'

“A new moon is the beginning of a new chapter, a new cycle, and that’s what this is to me,” Kelley said. “I feel like we need a little feel-good music in the world—I need some feel-good music. And I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited, because everything feels so different. This is me having fun with no fear.”

‘Songs for a New Moon' will be released independently, allowing Kelley to explore his creativity without limitations. On ‘Can’t Lose You,' he teams up with Lindsay Rimes, Josh Kear, and Michael Whitworth to deliver a throbbing, synth-driven anthem inspired by his personal journey. The song captures a sense of urgency and determination, reflecting Kelley’s own experiences. Meanwhile, ‘Here With Me' reimagines a deep cut from The Killers as an orchestral power ballad. Both songs showcase Kelley’s ability to push musical boundaries while staying true to his signature emotional depth.

A founding member of the Grammy-winning country trio Lady A, Kelley has built a career on chart-topping hits and genre-spanning songwriting. Beyond his work with the band, he has co-written hits for Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Brett Young, among others. His 2016 solo debut ‘The Driver' earned a Grammy nomination for its title track, featuring Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay.

With ‘Songs for a New Moon' Kelley continues to evolve as an artist, embracing a bold new sound and a renewed sense of creative freedom.
