Old Dominion announces seven-show Ryman residency to celebrate historic CMA milestone

Old Dominion is marking a monumental achievement in country music history with a heartfelt gesture to their fans and charitable causes. Following their unprecedented seven consecutive wins as the CMA’s “Vocal Group of the Year,” the band is taking their celebration to Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium with a special seven-show residency in February.

The residency honors not only their record-setting achievement but also their ongoing commitment to giving back. Each show will benefit one of seven charities the band has supported throughout their career: MusiCares, Save The Music, Backline Care, the Opry Trust Fund, CMA Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Ramsey Foundation.

A Unique Celebration in a Legendary Venue

“For us, the best way to celebrate something like this is to play,” shared lead singer Matthew Ramsey. “But we didn’t want a big production. We wanted intimate, stripped-down shows that focus on the songs, take requests, and create once-in-a-lifetime experiences every night.”

The Ryman Auditorium, with its storied history and intimate atmosphere, felt like the perfect place to bring this vision to life.

“When you think about bands like the Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, and the Chicks—who’ve won this award before—you realize what an incredible family you’re part of,” Ramsey added. “To have won it seven times in a row, that’s a blessing we don’t take lightly.”

A Gift for Fans and Causes They Believe In

For fans, the residency offers a rare chance to see Old Dominion in a smaller, more personal setting—a stark contrast to the arena and festival stages they’ve dominated in recent years. The performances will feel like a nod to their early days, showcasing the band’s artistic roots while inviting fans to be part of something truly special.

And for the band, it’s a way to combine their love of performing with their passion for giving back.

“How crazy is it? Do something fun, help causes you really love and believe in? Sign us up!” Ramsey said. “We’re getting all the ideas together, but obviously, bring your signs. See all the Odies at the Ryman in February. It’s gonna be awesome.”

More Than a Show: A Legacy of Giving Back

Each of the seven shows will support a different charity:

  • MusiCares – Providing health and human services to music community members in need.
  • Save The Music – Supporting music education programs in public schools.
  • Backline Care – Offering mental health resources for music industry professionals.
  • Opry Trust Fund – Assisting country music professionals in times of need.
  • CMA Foundation – Supporting music education initiatives.
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – Advancing research and treatment for pediatric diseases.
  • The Ramsey Foundation – Supporting local communities and causes close to the band’s heart.
