For kitchen lovers, Our Place has – and continues to – revolutionise the cooking and baking experiences. Already this year we’ve seen the UK release of the Wonder Oven, a 6-in-1 kitchen top appliance that is remarkably versatile. Our Place’s latest release is the Wander Bowl, a high-end item that allows you to take your packed lunch with you in style.
Isn’t it just a fancy lunch box I hear you say? My answer to that is, of course it’s not because it’s from Our Place. Available in four colours, the Wander Bowl is a ceramic bowl housed in a silicone case, that comes with a close tight lid and a silicon band to keep the lid firmly in place. The bowl has an impressive 28 oz capacity so you can pack a lot more into it than you might think at first glance. As it’s made from ceramic, it also boasts a scratch-resistant bottom meaning it should withstand being sloshed around in your bag while you commute.
One of the things that really impressed me with the Wander Bowl is the silicone sleeve that houses the ceramic bowl. It ensures that you can handle your Wander Bowl the minute the microwave dings. No need to go grab your kitchen mitts, you can pick it up and it’ll feel only modestly warm. You don’t have to worry about burning your fingers because the silicone sleeve provides the perfect barrier. You can also balance the lid on it to allow a gap for steam to come out of, but stop your food from drying out when it heats up.
In terms of cleaning, the Wander Bowl couldn’t be easier. Most remnants lift off with soap, hot water and a gentle rub of a dish cloth. Anything else can be easily cleaned off using bicarbonate of soda mixed with water.
The only downside to the Wander Bowl is that it’s not guaranteed leak proof and it does ask you to use caution if you’re carrying liquids. That means that it’s better suited for leftovers from the night before’s dinner rather than homemade soups. It’s not that you can’t put soup in it – you most certainly can – you might just have to be a bit more careful in terms of how you transport it to avoid leakage.
The Wander Bowl is a really attractive piece of kitchenware and it’s one I’ve certainly been getting plenty of use out of. As with all Our Place items, it’s gorgeous to look at and it just screams high-end. It’s certainly a much classier way of transporting your leftovers for lunch the next day than a good old see-through Tupperware box. I honestly can’t imagine what Our Place is going to come up with next.
