Fresh off a record-breaking streak, ACM New Male Artist of the Year Nate Smith is set to release his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘California Gold' on October 4. The 16-track album promises a blend of country, pop, and rock influences, showcasing Smith's unique sound and his signature raspy vocals.
One of the highlights from the upcoming album is the newly released track ‘Fix What You Didn’t Break,' a song that perfectly encapsulates the fusion of 2000s rock and heartfelt country that Smith aims to deliver. The track draws inspiration from iconic bands like Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, and 3 Doors Down, which were significant influences during Smith's early teens.
“I've always been a huge fan of big epic pop-rock songs from the 2000s,” Smith shares. “‘Fix What You Didn’t Break’ feels like the perfect blend of that era’s rock and today’s country. I want to create love songs that cut deep but still feel tough. This track is one of my favorites, and it really sets the tone for the entire album.”
‘California Gold' will also feature previously released tracks like ‘Wish I Never Felt,' as well as collaborations with Avril Lavigne and Alesso. Among the standout tracks is the RIAA-certified gold single ‘Bulletproof,' which recently broke records by becoming Smith's third consecutive multi-week No. 1 hit on the Mediabase chart. This achievement marks Smith as the first artist in R&R/Mediabase history to kick off their career with three consecutive multi-week No. 1 records.
Smith's impressive run of hits includes ‘Bulletproof,' following the chart-topping success of ‘World On Fire,' which dominated the Billboard Country Airplay Chart for 10 consecutive weeks and the Mediabase chart for three weeks. His debut single, ‘Whiskey On You,' also reached No. 1, spending a total of three weeks atop the charts.
In addition to the album release, Smith is gearing up for his 2024 Through The Smoke headline fall tour. The 16-city tour kicks off on September 19 in Portland, OR, and concludes on December 5 in Nashville, TN. This tour follows his recent stint with Morgan Wallen on the 2024 ONE NIGHT AT A TIME stadium tour.
