Kezia Gill announces new single ‘This Perfect Night’

Kezia Gill, the powerhouse singer-songwriter renowned for her heartfelt lyrics and captivating voice, is thrilled to unveil her first solo single of 2024, ‘This Perfect Night.' Following a string of successful collaborations, including a duet with Ward Thomas that aired on BBC Radio 2, Gill is back with an uplifting track guaranteed to have fans singing along from the first listen.

‘This Perfect Night' is described as infectiously smile-inducing, capturing the essence of a magical evening where two people find solace in each other's company. The lyrics paint a vivid scene in a darkened bar, where “Your eyes alight are promising, to take me away,” leading listeners on a journey of a perfect night under the stars.

“This song is about two people just wanting to escape reality for one night and lose themselves entirely in each other,” Kezia shares. “The idea is that the sunrise will break the spell and that they only have the magic of one perfect night. In a poetic way, this feels like the ‘Part 2' to ‘Whiskey Over Ice’ (Jan 2023), in the respect that they met in a bar and found an instant chemistry, like the perfect combination of Whiskey and Ice, and now in the next chapter they’re following their hearts and spending the ‘Perfect Night' together.”

Much like ‘Whiskey Over Ice,’ “This Perfect Night” was a collaborative project with long-term producer Ben Haynes. Kezia explains, “Ben came to me with the music for a library project. I wrote ‘This Perfect Night’, and Ben liked it so much he kept it back, just in case I ever wanted to release it myself. I'm so glad he did because it feels like the perfect time to release this song, and I can’t wait to sing it live out in the world.”

This release comes on the heels of a series of high-profile performances for Kezia. She made her mark across the pond with a debut performance at CMA Fest in Nashville, where she also interviewed the stadium main stage stars backstage for BBC Radio 2. Additionally, she performed on the “Today in Nashville” TV show and recently opened for Sir Tom Jones at Derby Summer Sessions in Markeaton Park, singing to thousands of enthusiastic fans.
