Rising singer/songwriter Annie Bosko unveils her latest single, a passionate duet with country legend Dwight Yoakam titled ‘Heart Burn.' Released via Stone Country Records, the track is now available on all major streaming platforms.
“Dwight is not only my musical hero but an icon, from his music to his sense of style, and we both share Bakersfield roots,” says Bosko. “I love that he effortlessly crosses genres, blending everything from country, Americana, rock, and Latin influences, and it feels like we were able to capture that in this song.”
Penned by Bosko and Chuck Cannon with Yoakam in mind, and produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry), ‘Heart Burn' features baritone guitars that nod to their Bakersfield heritage. The song's lyrics reflect a deep, fiery passion.
Bosko elaborates on the songwriting process, noting, “When we wrote the second verse, I asked, ‘What would Dwight Yoakam say?’ I wanted it to sound dreamy and poetic, but with a western edge.”
‘Heart Burn' follows Bosko’s recent duet with Vince Gill, ‘Higher Ground,' and her self-titled EP released earlier this year, which includes the single ‘Neon Baby.' Bosko made her late-night TV debut performing “Neon Baby” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Following her performance at the Grand Ole Opry last night, Bosko's upcoming appearances include the Concert for Love and Acceptance at Margaritaville on June 5, CMA Fest at the Hard Rock Stage on June 6, and a special in-store performance at the Ariat Brand Shop on June 7.
Bosko's recent performance at the ACM Country Kickoff in Frisco on May 14 garnered praise from Morning Hangover, which noted, “Annie has it all – she has the voice, the charm, the heart, the grit, the work ethic – everything about her screams future Superstar.”
