Chase Rice pays tribute to his mother on heartfelt new single ‘Connie Lou’

Chase Rice is turning the spotlight onto family, legacy and love on his deeply personal new single ‘Connie Lou,' a nostalgic track inspired by the real-life story of his parents and the world they built together.

Following the emotional thread of his recent work, including the tribute to his late father on ‘I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell,' Rice now honours the other half of that story, crafting a song that celebrates his mother while revisiting the early days of their relationship. Written alongside Dan Couch and producer Oscar Charles, ‘Connie Lou' captures a coming-of-age romance rooted in rodeo culture, small-town life and the kind of everyday moments that shape a lifetime.

Built around vivid imagery like, “Connie fell for a felt hat and Wranglers / On that Friday sippin’ Coors Banquets,” the track leans into Rice’s signature blend of storytelling and stripped-back authenticity. It’s a song that feels lived-in, drawing on real memories rather than manufactured sentiment, and continues the more grounded, introspective creative direction he’s embraced in recent years.

That sense of authenticity extends beyond the music itself. The release of ‘Connie Lou' is tied to a collaboration with Coors Banquet and Wrangler: two names that have long been part of Rice’s personal and artistic identity. “Coors Banquet has been part of my story for a long time,” Rice explained, pointing to both his family history and the imagery that runs throughout his songs. “This one is about the kind of life I grew up around—rodeos, small towns, hard work and cold beer at the end of the night.”

To mark the release, Rice is debuting the song live at a surprise pop-up event in Nashville, taking over Loser’s Most Wanted Bar & Grill for a celebratory block party. The free, first-come event reflects the same grassroots, fan-first energy that has defined his career.

The partnership also includes a limited-edition apparel drop, headlined by a unique “Beer Chords” concept: jeans printed with the actual chords of ‘Connie Lou' using beer-based ink. It’s a creative extension of the song’s DNA, blending music, culture and fashion in a way that feels distinctly on-brand for Rice.

At its heart, though, ‘Connie Lou' is about something much simpler and more enduring: family, memory and the stories that shape who we are. In an era where much of country music leans toward the immediate, Rice is doubling down on something deeper: reminding listeners that the most powerful songs are often the most personal.
