The Band Perry has officially returned to country music, announcing their comeback today with a refreshed lineup featuring original siblings Reid and Kimberly Perry, joined by Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello.
Fans were surprised with news that the trio will perform tonight at 6:50 p.m. CT on the Hard Rock Stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, marking their first major appearance in the country scene in years.
“After stepping away to take a break and evolve, we’re feeling more grounded, more fired-up, and more connected to our roots than ever,” the band shared in a statement. “Country music has always been home for us—and we feel so grateful to still have a seat at the table. We’re bringing everything we’ve lived, everything we’ve learned, and a whole new energy into this next season. We can’t wait to share what’s coming.”
The Band Perry first broke through in 2010 with their self-titled debut album and the chart-topping single ‘If I Die Young.' They quickly rose to become one of the most impactful acts of their era, earning a GRAMMY nomination, six No. 1 singles, and multiple CMA, ACM, and CMT Music Awards. Their catalogue includes hits like ‘Better Dig Two' and ‘DONE' with more than 1 billion streams and 12 million singles sold.
Nearly 15 years since their debut, the return is timed just ahead of the anniversary of ‘If I Die Young,' which was released on June 8, 2010. The now 9x Platinum single spent more than a year on the Billboard Hot 100 and won both Song and Single of the Year at the 2011 CMA Awards.
The band’s quiet reunion began earlier this year when they performed at a Hurricane Helene benefit concert in Greeneville, Tennessee. “Using this benefit show to give back to the county that shaped my family and me for 25 years allows us to honor how this community contributed to many defining pieces of our lives and success,” Kimberly told The Tennessean.
The Band Perry is currently in the studio working on new music, with more announcements expected soon.
