‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Kai Widdrington sets new Guinness World Record

‘Strictly Come Dancing' professional dancer Kai Widdrington has set a new Guinness World Record during tonight's ‘Strictly: It Takes Two'.

Widdrington now holds the Guinness World Record for the most Cha Cha Cha Time Steps performed in 30 seconds. He won the record after beating fellow pro Neil Jones, after it was revealed that one of Jones steps was disqualified.

The challenge was hosted by Craig Revel Horwood, with Guinness World Records official, Will Munford, overseeing the attempts.

A Cha Cha Cha time step starts with a step to the side on straight legs, then a transfer of weight from one foot to the other, settling on each heel followed by a chasse. The dancers then repeat, in the opposite direction. Our professional dancers had to keep their foot work ball flat throughout and the movement completed on both sides.

Widdrington was awarded his official Guinness World Record certificate on tonight’s ‘Strictly: It Takes Two'.
