Country superstar Brad Paisley and American rock band Dawes have teamed up for a brand-new song, ‘Raining Inside,' which is now available on all digital platforms. Paisley co-wrote the track alongside Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and songwriter Lee Thomas Miller. Originally recorded as a solo track, the song evolved into a collaboration after Paisley's electrifying Grammy performance with Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes) on Randy Newman's ‘I Love L.A.' The performance, which also featured Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, John Legend, and St. Vincent, sparked the idea to bring Dawes into the recording.
In the first two lines of the song, Paisley digs in on his position and values in relation to the current divisiveness in American right now as he sings, “I've got friends that I can't talk to and a doctor I don't trust,' going right to the heart of the divide between left and right and the current trend towards vaccine scepticism.
To celebrate the release, Paisley and Dawes will go live on Instagram today at 2:30 PM PT/4:30 PM PT to discuss the collaboration and share insights about the song. Fans can join the conversation on @BradPaisley and @Dawestheband.
In addition to the new music, Paisley recently announced his ‘Truck Still Works World Tour,' kicking off May 21, 2025, at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The first leg of the tour will include 16 shows through August, featuring special guest Walker Hayes, with Avery Anna, Mae Estes, and Alexandra Kay rotating as openers. The tour, produced by Live Nation, includes milestone performances at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
