The first trailer for ‘Scream 7' is here and Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is taking centre stage.
Fans have been eager to see the first footage from the new film after it was announced that Campbell would be returning to the franchise. Watch the trailer below:
Fans will remember that Campbell turned down appearing in ‘Scream VI' after she wasn't offered the money that she felt she deserved. That meant the last film was the first without Sidney Prescott, and instead it centred on sisters Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega) Carpenter. ‘Scream 7' was meant to continue the story of the Carpenter sisters but Barrera was fired for her comments around Israel's war with Gaza and Ortega chose to leave.
The new trailer puts Campbell's Sidney Prescott front-and-centre as she and her daughter Tatum (Isbael May). After opening with two young people exploring Stu Macher's house, which appears to now be an AirBnB rental, Ghostface appears to terrorise them. The action then cuts to Sidney and her daughter, who are being stalked by the latest Ghostface (or is it Ghostfaces?).
There is only a brief glimpse of Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and there's no sign of Scott Foley or David Arquette, who are all going to be part of the new film in some way. The voice of Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher appears at the very end of the trailer. The film will also see the return of Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Chad and Mindy Meeks, both of whom appear briefly in the trailer.
The cast also includes Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O'Connor, Sam Rechner, Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro.
‘Scream 7' is directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original film's screenplay. It will be released in cinemas on 27th February 2026.
