Jenny Tolman has released heartfelt new single ‘Baby Steps', which arrives just in time for Mother's Day in the US.
Tolman wrote the song alongside Dan Harrison and Emily Kroll. ‘Baby Steps' is both a celebration of growth and a tribute to the journey that leads to motherhood. Take a listen to the song below:
“‘Baby Steps’ is a full circle story of how even though life can be hard to navigate through at times, if you just make one small move every day, you’ll get farther than you could’ve ever dreamed,” shares Tolman. “The production is very reminiscent of early Taylor Swift to me – which I love, because it makes me think back to what I was listening to when I first started writing as a kid, and look at where those ‘baby steps’ have led me to!”
The new single follows ‘Show Pony', a song that showcased Tolman's sharp-tongue and unapologetic take on heartbreak. The music video brought the storytelling to life through a dazzling 1920s circus-inspired lens. With vintage glam styling, carousel horses, and carnival-like visuals, Tolman embodies both the observer and the performer, echoing the song’s playful yet cutting critique of surface-level beauty and hollow charm.
Last autumn, Tolman was selected as one of 12 contestants on CBS and Paramount+’s docu-style music competition series ‘The Road', produced by Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan. Each week, contestants took the stage as opening acts for Keith Urban at venues across the country, gaining national exposure and live performance experience.
Tolman is preparing for the 5th annual Cowgirls at The Cowboy, the nation’s only all-female country music festival, held at the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson, Wyoming. Shecurates, hosts, and performs at the festival each year. Last year’s lineup featured standout artists including Ella Langley, Mae Estes, Willow Avalon, Trannie Anderson and Jenny herself.
