Emerging country-soul talent Benny G has announced his upcoming EP ‘When You Know You Know,' set for release on April 17. Alongside the announcement, he has unveiled a new track, ‘She Was Just a Stranger,' a solo-written offering that further showcases his stripped-back, emotionally driven songwriting style. The project promises to be a deeply personal exploration of love, relationships and self-discovery, charting the highs and lows of connection with unfiltered honesty. Pre-save right here.
Built as a chronological journey, ‘When You Know You Know' follows the emotional arc of a relationship from first attraction through to heartbreak and reflection. Benny G explains that the EP captures everything from the nerves of noticing someone for the first time, to the optimism of early romance, and eventually the gut feelings, mistakes and lessons that come with love falling apart. Themes of vulnerability, anxiety and growth run throughout, giving the six-song collection a cohesive, narrative-driven feel.
The project leans heavily into a raw, organic sound, with most of the tracks produced by Eddie Spear and recorded live in single takes. That approach highlights Benny G’s instinctive artistry and soulful vocal delivery, avoiding overproduction in favour of authenticity. Previously released songs ‘An Hour or So' and ‘I Got a Feeling'—both produced by Todd Clark alongside Benny G—have already earned praise from outlets including Country Central helping to build momentum ahead of the full release.
Benny G’s rise has accelerated in recent months, with a standout debut at the C2C: Country to Country festival in Berlin and London earning widespread acclaim. Critics highlighted his performances as among the most memorable of the weekend, marking him as a breakout voice on the international country scene. He has since extended his time in Europe supporting the Jack Wharff Band, while also gearing up for a busy touring schedule back in the U.S.
That momentum will continue throughout the year, with Benny G set to join rising star Ty Myers on The Legal Tour, performing at major venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Wharf Amphitheater. He will also make his debut appearance at CMA Fest, further cementing his status as one of the most exciting new names in country and soul-infused Americana.
