MCA, a division of Universal Music Group, has released Landman – Songs From and Inspired by the Paramount+ Original Series (Volume II), available now across all streaming platforms. The new installment deepens the musical identity of Landman, the critically acclaimed series created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, continuing to mirror the grit, emotion, and humanity of life in the West Texas oilfields. The release arrives just ahead of the Season Two finale, streaming Sunday, January 18, exclusively on Paramount+.
Volume II introduces a fresh wave of voices that further shape the show’s emotional landscape. Among the standout contributions are Carter Faith, The Red Clay Strays, and Dalton Davis, each delivering performances that feel lived-in and deeply tied to Landman’s themes of resilience, longing, and survival. Carter Faith delivers two of the collection’s most intimate moments with ‘Goodbye' and ‘Lay Your Heartache Onto Mine,' both co-written with Landman star Billy Bob Thornton and Jessie Jo Dillon and produced by Dave Cobb. ‘Goodbye' reflects on the many quiet and unresolved ways people part, while ‘Lay Your Heartache Onto Mine,' a duet with William Beckmann, offers a tender moment of shared vulnerability under dance hall lights.
The Red Clay Strays bring their raw, soul-soaked Southern intensity to the project, grounding the soundtrack in realism that blurs grit and grace. Dalton Davis adds swagger and edge with ‘Fireproof,' written by Billy Bob Thornton, Ronnie Bowman, and Mark Collie, a character-driven track that captures the strength and self-awareness required to survive in Landman’s world. Across the full collection, Volume II continues the series’ tradition of pairing authentic Americana, country, and roots music with powerful storytelling, featuring additional contributions from Lee Ann Womack, Luke Grimes, Colter Wall, Whiskey Myers, Noeline Hofmann, and more.
Following the success of Volume I, which was exclusively announced by Entertainment Weekly, Volume II further cements music as a core storytelling element of Landman, bringing viewers closer to the lives, losses, and quiet moments that define the series.
