Walter Presents has launched the first season of ‘Isolated' on Channel 4.
The Finnish series stars Elena Leeve, Joonas Saartamo and Ville Virtanen, and is created by Lassi Vierikko, Petja Lähde and Markos Annala.
On the remote island of Utö, an idyllic community is suddenly thrown into chaos by a series of unexplained phenomena. A strange sound and powerful electromagnetic pulses engulf the island, cutting off all communication and sabotaging every attempt to escape. As panic grows, the residents are divided, some desperate to flee, others determined to stay and prepare for the worst. Paranoia deepens with the arrival of uninvited strangers, further fueling suspicion and fear.
Meanwhile, Finland’s naval forces encircle the island, attempting to uncover the cause of the mysterious disturbances. With ships unable to approach and no clear explanation at hand, officials begin to suspect a hybrid attack, yet nothing fits the known patterns. Tensions mount as time runs out.
Back on the island, resources dwindle. Food and water supplies run dangerously low, igniting chaos and desperation among the once-peaceful islanders. Violence brews as the social fabric begins to unravel.
With no answers in sight, the military faces a grim decision: destroy the island to contain whatever force may be at play. Unaware of the looming threat from beyond their shores, the islanders descend into survival mode, turning on each other as fear takes hold.
In a race against time, only the hidden history of Utö may hold the key to understanding and halting the disaster.
