The new event will bring some of the world’s biggest stars to one of Europe’s largest city parks, building on Roundhay’s rich musical history that includes legendary concerts from Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2, and Ed Sheeran. The first headliner for the debut edition will be announced soon.

In addition to world-class live performances, the festival will include a midweek programme of free activities for all ages, covering arts, culture, wellbeing, and local talent showcases. Organisers are also promising significant economic benefits for the Leeds area by engaging local suppliers, employing local staff, and boosting spending across accommodation, food, and entertainment.

Sustainability will be at the heart of the festival, with responsible energy use, waste management, and local food partnerships central to its operations. Big Green Coach has been confirmed as the official travel partner, providing low-impact transport and offsetting emissions through ecosystem protection projects.

AEG Presents is partnering with Leeds City Council on the project, with both organisations highlighting the park’s history and the opportunity to create a landmark new event for the north of England.

Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, said: “Roundhay Park already holds an extraordinary place in music history, having hosted concerts from some of the biggest artists of all time and we cannot wait to add to that story. We are committed to delivering the very best in every aspect, from welcoming some of the greatest artists in the world, to creating an unforgettable fan experience, and upholding industry-leading sustainability standards.”

Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, added: “Roundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy. I’m sure music fans, not just in Leeds but across the region and beyond, will agree with me when I say ‘roll on next summer.’”

American Express will serve as presenting partner, offering Cardmembers exclusive presale access and on-site benefits. Shiz Suzuki, Vice President of Global Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing at American Express, described the new event as a defining moment for music fans: “Through this new festival we can’t wait to bring even more Card Members closer to the artists and bands they love.”

Lineups, ticket details, and further programming will be announced in the coming months. Fans can sign up for updates via the festival’s official website and social media channels.
